Extended case: Southern Corridor infrastructure quarter
Challenge
A multi-district infrastructure program needed one report section to show physical progress milestones beside disbursement rates. Previous cycles buried disbursement in an appendix reviewers rarely opened.
Approach
We paired milestone completion bars with spending lines on the same page, footnoted contract amendment delays, and added a half-page narrative on the two districts where progress lagged spending.
Outcome
Provincial steering accepted the report without formal return. The program manager reused the layout structure for the following annual submission.
Extended case: Ward figure preparation audit
A social protection unit received three consecutive returns for arithmetic errors in ward submissions. We audited the draft, identified inconsistent percentage calculations across six wards, and ran a half-day workshop with ward compilers.
The next quarterly cycle passed provincial review on first submission. The unit now uses our footnote checklist internally before figures leave the ward office.
